Overview

This Privacy Notice for PauseTech Labs LLC ("PauseTech Labs," "we," "us," or "our") explains what personal information we collect, how and why we use it, who we share it with, and the rights and choices you have when you use our website at pausetechlabs.com and any related pages (the "Services"). It is written to align with the California Consumer Privacy Act as amended by the CPRA ("CCPA"), the EU and UK General Data Protection Regulation ("GDPR"), and other U.S. state privacy laws. If you do not agree with this Notice, please do not use the Services.

A note on our products

This Notice covers our website. Our software products are designed to run on your own machine, on your own keys - they are standalone, and nothing they process is sent back to us. Where a product does not transmit your data to us, this Notice does not apply to that data, and we do not receive, store, or have access to it.

Personal information we collect

We collect the personal information you voluntarily provide - such as your name, email address, company, and any message - when you submit an interest or contact form, purchase a product, or otherwise reach out. We also automatically collect limited technical information (such as IP address, browser and device characteristics, and usage data) to keep the site secure and, only with your consent, to understand how it is used. The categories below use the CCPA/CPRA framework:

We do not process sensitive personal information, and we do not knowingly collect information from children (see below).

Sources and how we use your information

We collect information directly from you (forms, email, purchases) and automatically from your device when you visit. We do not buy personal information about you from third parties.

We use your information to:

  • respond to inquiries and provide support;
  • send product updates you asked for (you can unsubscribe at any time);
  • operate, maintain, and secure the site and prevent fraud and abuse;
  • fulfill and manage purchases through our payment processor; and
  • comply with law and enforce our terms.

We process your information only when we have a valid legal basis to do so (see the GDPR section), and we do not use it for automated decision-making that produces legal or similarly significant effects about you.

We do not sell or share your personal information

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising, as those terms are defined under the CCPA/CPRA. We have not done so in the preceding 12 months. We also do not use or disclose sensitive personal information for purposes that require a right to limit. Because we do not sell or share, there is nothing to opt out of - but you may still record your preference on our Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information page, and we honor Global Privacy Control (GPC) browser signals.

When and with whom we disclose it

We disclose personal information only to service providers and processors who perform work on our behalf under contracts that require them to protect it and use it only for our purposes - for example:

  • Hosting & app platform - to run the site and store form submissions.
  • Email delivery - to route and answer your inquiries.
  • Payments - Stripe processes purchases (see below).
  • Analytics - only if you consent (see our Cookie Policy).

We may also disclose information to comply with law, respond to lawful requests, protect our rights and safety, or in connection with a merger, financing, or sale of assets. None of these disclosures is a "sale" of personal information.

Payments

If you purchase a product, payment is processed by our payment processor, Stripe. We do not store your full card details; Stripe handles payment data as an independent controller under its own terms and privacy policy.

Cookies and tracking technologies

We use strictly necessary cookies to operate the site and remember your preferences. We load analytics only after you accept in our consent banner, and never before. You can withdraw consent at any time. For details, see our Cookie Policy.

How long we keep it (retention)

We keep personal information only as long as necessary for the purposes described here - for example, inquiry and contact records are retained while we correspond with you and for a reasonable period afterward, and purchase records are kept as required for tax, accounting, and legal obligations. When we no longer need it, we delete or anonymize it.

How we keep it safe

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security; please use the Services within a secure environment.

Children's privacy

The Services are not directed to children under 18, and we do not knowingly collect information from them. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us at privacy@pausetechlabs.com and we will delete it.

Your U.S. state privacy rights (California and others)

If you are a resident of California, or of a state with a comprehensive privacy law (including Virginia, Colorado, Connecticut, Utah, Texas, Oregon, Montana, and others), you have some or all of the following rights, free of charge and without discrimination for exercising them:

  • Right to know / access - what personal information we collect, use, and disclose.
  • Right to delete - request deletion of your personal information (see Delete My Data).
  • Right to correct - fix inaccurate personal information.
  • Right to portability - obtain a copy in a portable format.
  • Right to opt out of sale / sharing / targeted advertising - we do not sell or share, but you may still record the preference on our Do Not Sell or Share page.
  • Right to limit use of sensitive personal information - we do not collect SPI, so there is nothing to limit.
  • Right to non-discrimination and, where applicable, to appeal a decision on your request.

California's "Shine the Light" law: we do not disclose personal information to third parties for their own direct marketing.

Your rights in the EEA and UK (GDPR)

If you are in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, PauseTech Labs is the controller of your personal data. Our legal bases for processing are: consent (analytics cookies and marketing emails), contract (to respond to your request or fulfill a purchase), legitimate interests (to secure and improve the site, balanced against your rights), and legal obligation. You have the rights to access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability, and objection, and to withdraw consent at any time without affecting prior processing. Where we transfer data outside the EEA/UK, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as the Standard Contractual Clauses. You may lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority, though we ask that you contact us first at privacy@pausetechlabs.com.

How to exercise your rights

To exercise any right, email privacy@pausetechlabs.com or use our data request page. We will verify your identity using the information we hold (for example, the email address you used) and respond within the time required by law - generally 45 days under the CCPA (extendable once) and one month under the GDPR. An authorized agent may submit a request on your behalf with proof of authorization. We do not charge a fee unless a request is manifestly unfounded or excessive.

Global Privacy Control and Do-Not-Track

We honor the Global Privacy Control (GPC) opt-out preference signal where required. Because no uniform Do-Not-Track standard has been finalized, we do not otherwise respond to DNT signals; if a standard we must follow is adopted, we will update this Notice.

Updates to this Notice

We may update this Notice from time to time. The updated version is indicated by the "Last updated" date and is effective as soon as it is posted. For material changes, we may notify you directly or by posting a notice on the site.
